Our
Journey

COwrite started with a vision to provide a safe and supportive community for authors from all backgrounds to enhance their writing skills and connect with like-minded creatives. Our journey is filled with passion, dedication, and a commitment to nurturing an inclusive writing community in Colorado.

Mission & Impact

Our hope is that COwrite's initiatives will positively impact the Colorado writing community by fostering creativity and nurturing talent from all backgrounds. Join us in making a difference.

Inclusivity

COwrite is an inclusive community dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the classes or workshops without a refund at the discretion of the organizers.

Collaboration

Our model encourages collaboration by inviting attendees to contribute and connect through critiquing, group exercises, and more. Alongside attendee feedback, writers will also receive feedback from industry professionals.

Outreach

Alongside our classes, COwrite supports non-profit organizations that fight to diversify publishing and combat book bans across the country. Some organizations include We Need Diverse Books, Authors Against Book Bans, The Freedom to Read Foundation, and LAMBDA.

Empowerment

In an industry that is often anything but transparent, our classes pull back the curtain on publishing, empowering authors with a better understanding of the business side of publishing to foster long-term career success.
